Meet Rafa
Rafa Tadielo is a life coach, clinical hypnotherapist, podcast host, and founder based in Auckland, New Zealand. After spending decades working in corporate and hospitality environments, she chose a different path and now supports women navigating career transitions, self doubt, personal growth, and life changes through coaching and hypnotherapy.
The Quiet Question That Changed Everything
There are moments in life when everything appears to be working.
The career looks successful. The responsibilities are being handled. The goals are being achieved. From the outside, it seems as though a person has built exactly the life they were meant to build.
Yet sometimes beneath that carefully constructed image lives a quieter truth.
For years, Rafa Tadielo lived inside that contradiction.
She had spent decades working across industries including banking, finance, fashion, and hospitality. She was respected, capable, and hardworking. Like many ambitious women, she knew how to keep moving forward, solve problems, and meet expectations.
But beneath the surface, something felt missing.
The routines that once provided stability had begun to feel repetitive. The achievements that once felt meaningful no longer offered the same sense of fulfilment. While her life looked successful from the outside, internally she found herself asking questions she could no longer ignore.
Was this really it?
Was life meant to be an endless cycle of working hard, chasing goals, and starting over again?
Those questions would eventually lead her toward a completely different future, one built not around external expectations but around authenticity, purpose, and meaningful human connection.
Today, Rafa helps women navigate some of the very same crossroads she once faced herself. Yet her journey into this work did not begin with certainty. It began with struggle.
When Success No Longer Feels Like Success
There was a period in Rafa’s life when things became increasingly difficult.
The pace of the hospitality industry had taken its toll. Years of operating in demanding environments left her feeling exhausted, anxious, and disconnected from herself.
She describes reaching a point that felt like rock bottom.
Although everything looked fine on paper, her internal reality told a different story. Anxiety had become a constant presence. Unhealthy coping mechanisms were affecting her wellbeing. The gap between how life appeared and how it actually felt was growing wider.
What made this period particularly challenging was that there was no dramatic external crisis. Instead, it was a gradual realisation that continuing down the same path would come at a significant cost.
Her physical health was suffering.
Her mental wellbeing was suffering.
Most importantly, her sense of purpose was disappearing.
At first, Rafa was not searching for a calling. She was simply looking for a way out.
She imagined finding a more stable career, something predictable and less demanding. She even explored completely different professions. What mattered most at the time was creating a healthier and more sustainable future.
Then one simple question changed everything.
While listening to a podcast about career change, she heard a prompt that stopped her in her tracks.
“If you’re thinking about changing careers, can you imagine yourself doing this job for the next five or ten years?”
The question seemed straightforward, yet it created an entirely new perspective.
Until that moment, Rafa had been asking herself what she should do.
Now she found herself asking something far more important.
What did she actually want?
That shift became the beginning of a much deeper transformation.
A Season of Radical Commitment
Once Rafa decided she wanted something different, she approached the process with complete commitment.
She developed what she now refers to as her six month manifestation plan.
Rather than casually studying while waiting for life to change, she immersed herself fully in creating a new future. Outside of work, nearly every available hour was dedicated to learning, personal development, and building new possibilities.
One decision during this period proved especially significant.
She stopped drinking alcohol.
Initially, it was a practical choice designed to improve focus while studying. Over time, however, it revealed something much deeper.
As the weeks passed, Rafa recognised how much alcohol had become a coping mechanism. Removing it created space for greater awareness, improved energy, stronger confidence, and a clearer relationship with herself.
What began as a temporary experiment evolved into one of the most transformative decisions of her life.
At the same time, she immersed herself in hypnotherapy training. She volunteered for demonstrations, participated in practice sessions, and embraced every opportunity to experience the process firsthand.
The personal breakthroughs she experienced during this period opened her eyes to what meaningful transformation could look like.
She began to understand how deeply beliefs, patterns, and subconscious programming influence behaviour. More importantly, she discovered that change was possible.
Not only for herself, but for others as well.
Another important milestone came when she hired her first life coach.
For the first time, she experienced the power of having someone dedicated to supporting her growth. Someone who could challenge her thinking, provide perspective, encourage action, and hold her accountable to the future she wanted to create.
The experience accelerated her development and reinforced a lesson she continues to share with clients today.
Meaningful transformation becomes easier when we do not attempt it alone.
Building a Business While Building Herself
Many people imagine entrepreneurship as freedom.
The reality, Rafa discovered, is much more complex.
Launching a business required her to develop skills she had never anticipated needing. Coaching clients was only one part of the work. Behind every client conversation existed countless hours of planning, administration, marketing, systems management, content creation, finances, and decision making.
The learning curve was steep.
As a solopreneur, there was nobody else to delegate responsibilities to. Every challenge became an invitation to grow.
This experience taught Rafa one of the most valuable lessons of her career.
Personal growth does not stop once a business begins. In many ways, entrepreneurship demands even more growth than traditional employment.
It requires discipline when nobody is watching.
It requires resilience when results are slow.
It requires self leadership when uncertainty becomes unavoidable.
Most importantly, it requires the ability to keep showing up despite discomfort.
Over time, Rafa came to understand that building a business around passion does not mean spending every day doing the thing you love most.
Instead, it means building a structure that allows you to continue doing meaningful work over the long term.
Accepting that reality helped her embrace the full responsibility of entrepreneurship while staying connected to the deeper purpose behind it.
Walking Beside Women Through Change
Today, Rafa’s work centres on helping women navigate moments of uncertainty and transformation.
Many of the women she supports feel stuck between who they are and who they want to become.
Some are considering career changes.
Others are starting businesses.
Some are rebuilding confidence after difficult life experiences.
Many are simply trying to reconnect with themselves after years of prioritising everyone else’s needs.
Through a combination of coaching and clinical hypnotherapy, Rafa helps clients understand the beliefs, fears, and patterns that may be holding them back while also creating practical strategies for moving forward.
Her approach reflects both professional training and personal experience.
She knows what it feels like to question everything.
She knows what it feels like to outgrow a life that once seemed right.
And she knows how powerful it can be when someone finally gives themselves permission to pursue something more aligned.
What drives her work extends beyond individual achievement.
She believes that when people become more connected to themselves, the impact naturally spreads outward into their relationships, families, workplaces, and communities.
As she explains,
“When we become the best version of ourselves, the impact goes far beyond just our own lives.”
This ripple effect sits at the heart of everything she does.
Each client who gains confidence, creates healthier boundaries, makes courageous decisions, or develops greater self awareness contributes to something larger than personal growth alone.
The transformation reaches everyone around them.
Creating Spaces for Connection
Beyond her coaching practice, Rafa has expanded her work into community building and meaningful conversation.
She is the founder and host of the She Dares Podcast, where she shares insights, stories, and conversations focused on personal growth, courage, and authentic living.
The podcast reflects her belief that honest conversations can create powerful shifts in perspective.
She also hosts Empower Her networking events, creating opportunities for women to connect, collaborate, and support one another.
These initiatives are rooted in a belief that feels increasingly important in today’s world.
Information is abundant.
Connection is not.
While technology continues to evolve rapidly, Rafa believes genuine human connection will become even more valuable in the years ahead. Communities that foster belonging, encouragement, and shared growth can offer something many people are searching for but struggling to find.
A reminder that they do not have to navigate life alone.
Looking Toward the Future
As Rafa reflects on what comes next, her vision remains deeply connected to the values that have guided her own transformation.
She hopes to continue expanding opportunities for women to access support, community, and meaningful personal growth.
One area she is currently exploring is the creation of a membership community where women can continue their development alongside others walking similar paths.
For her, the future is not simply about reaching more people.
It is about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to become who they are meant to be.
Alongside that vision sits another personal goal.
She wants to build a sustainable business that provides the freedom to work from different places while continuing to create meaningful impact.
Yet even as her work grows, one commitment remains unchanged.
She intends to keep learning, evolving, and becoming the next version of herself.
Growth, after all, is not a destination. It is an ongoing practice.
The Courage to Choose Yourself
When asked what success means to her, Rafa’s answer is remarkably simple.
“Success, for me, is having the courage to be my most authentic self and being proud of who I am, how I lead and how I serve others.”
That definition captures the essence of her journey.
Not the career changes.
Not the business milestones.
Not even the achievements she has accumulated along the way.
The true story is about a woman who stopped settling for what felt available and began creating what felt meaningful.
It is about choosing authenticity over expectation.
Purpose over comfort.
Growth over fear.
And in doing so, creating a path that now helps countless other women find the courage to do the same.
For Rafa Tadielo, the most important transformation was never simply changing careers. It was learning to trust herself enough to build a life that genuinely reflected who she was. Everything that followed grew from that single decision.
