Meet Jake Robbins
Jake Robbins is a Minneapolis based Shamanic Life and Executive Coach, intuitive guide, and founder of A Better Life Living. He works with high functioning leaders who want to break subconscious patterns, expand their capacity, and build lives that reflect who they truly are. His work is shaped by his own lived experience of trauma, recovery, personal transformation, and a deep commitment to helping others create lasting change.
A Life Shaped by What Could Not Be Seen
Some journeys begin with a carefully designed plan. Others emerge from moments that seem impossible to understand while they are happening. Jake Robbins belongs to the second kind of story.
His career has taken many forms. He has worked in business leadership, spent years in the music industry, built companies, managed artists, and helped creative professionals develop successful careers. Yet none of those experiences alone explain why he does what he does today.
The work he now offers was not created from a business strategy. It grew from years of personal struggle, healing, and the quiet realization that every difficult chapter had been preparing him for something greater.
Today, he helps people reconnect with themselves by looking beneath surface level solutions. Rather than focusing only on external success, he encourages people to understand the internal beliefs, emotions, and patterns that shape every part of their lives.
His story reminds us that purpose often reveals itself only after we have survived the experiences we never wanted to face.
Learning to Lead Before Finding Himself
Long before coaching became part of his life, Jake was building businesses and leading teams.
For nearly a decade, he worked as a general manager while pursuing his passion for music as a DJ and producer. In 2020, he founded High Caliber Records, combining his entrepreneurial mindset with his creative interests. Two years later, he expanded his work by launching Built Different Music Group, an artist consulting agency dedicated to helping musicians grow sustainable careers.
During those years, he managed artists, organized tours, developed brands, and helped transform emerging talent into successful touring professionals. Watching people discover their confidence and unlock their potential became one of the most rewarding aspects of his work.
Looking back, those experiences were preparing him for something much deeper. Building artists required more than business knowledge. It required understanding people, recognizing hidden potential, and helping individuals move beyond the limitations they placed on themselves.
Although he had not yet identified coaching as his calling, the desire to help others had always been present.
He often reflects that supporting people brought him a sense of fulfillment unlike anything else he had experienced. Even as his career evolved, that feeling remained constant.
When Everything Fell Apart
Every meaningful transformation has a moment when life refuses to continue as it once did.
For Jake, those moments arrived through years of profound personal hardship.
Behind the accomplishments and entrepreneurial milestones was a private battle with psychological trauma, addiction, mental health challenges, and years of emotional pain. These struggles stretched across more than two decades and shaped much of his early life.
Recovery was neither simple nor quick. There was no single breakthrough that solved everything overnight. Instead, healing became a long process of confronting fear, rebuilding trust in himself, and learning how to move through pain instead of avoiding it.
During this period, he experienced what he now understands as several profound spiritual awakenings. Rather than seeing these experiences as moments of collapse, he came to view them as invitations to rebuild his life from an entirely different foundation.
The darkest season eventually became the doorway to the life he lives today.
As Jake explains,
“The worst time in my life was actually my biggest breakthrough I’ve ever experienced.”
That realization transformed the way he understood suffering. Instead of allowing painful experiences to define him, he began seeing them as opportunities to discover strengths that had remained hidden beneath years of fear and survival.
His healing journey became less about escaping the past and more about understanding how pain could become wisdom.
Over time, he learned to approach emotional recovery with patience, self awareness, and compassion. He describes this process as learning to transform his energy rather than simply managing difficult emotions.
This shift changed every area of his life.
Instead of asking why painful experiences had happened, he began asking what they were teaching him.
That question became the foundation of everything that followed.
Finding Purpose in the Quietest Moment
In May 2025, another unexpected moment changed the direction of Jake’s life.
While reflecting on everything he had experienced, he came across information about a coaching program led by Jay Shetty, someone whose work had long inspired him.
For many people, such a moment might appear ordinary.
For Jake, it felt deeply significant.
Years of personal growth, recovery, leadership experience, and spiritual exploration suddenly connected into one clear understanding.
He realized that helping people was not simply something he enjoyed doing.
It was the work he believed he had been preparing for his entire life.
That realization became the beginning of A Better Life Living.
Rather than separating his personal experiences from his professional work, he chose to build his coaching practice around complete authenticity.
He believes people do not need someone who has lived a perfect life.
They need someone who understands what it feels like to rebuild one.
Helping Others Rewrite Their Inner Story
Today, Jake works with entrepreneurs, executives, and high functioning leaders who often appear successful from the outside while privately carrying patterns that continue to limit their lives.
His coaching focuses on helping clients recognize subconscious beliefs, expand emotional capacity, and create lasting personal transformation.
Rather than offering quick solutions, he encourages deeper exploration of the internal world.
He believes that lasting change begins within.
The external achievements people seek often become natural consequences of inner clarity, emotional healing, and greater self awareness.
His approach reflects the lessons he learned through his own recovery.
Integrity, authenticity, and honesty remain the values that guide every client relationship.
Rather than presenting himself as someone with every answer, he approaches coaching with humility and genuine curiosity about each person’s unique journey.
His clients are encouraged to discover their own answers instead of becoming dependent on someone else’s perspective.
This philosophy creates space for lasting independence rather than temporary motivation.
For Jake, success is measured less by financial milestones and more by the number of lives positively influenced through meaningful human connection.
His greatest sense of achievement does not come from awards or recognition.
It comes from becoming someone capable of helping others believe that change is possible.
As he says,
“When you become a master of what’s on the inside, it’s reflected on the outside.”
That simple belief has become the guiding principle behind every conversation, every coaching session, and every decision he makes.
Looking Beyond Personal Success
Jake speaks about the future with quiet confidence rather than certainty.
His ambitions are significant, yet they remain rooted in service.
He hopes to expand A Better Life Living into a global coaching organization that reaches people across cultures and communities. More importantly, he wants the work to remain deeply personal regardless of how much it grows.
He envisions supporting individuals from every corner of the world while continuing to create meaningful relationships built on trust and genuine transformation.
Alongside his professional aspirations, he also hopes to build a family and continue living a life that reflects the freedom he worked so hard to create.
For him, success has never been about accumulating accomplishments.
It is about living according to his values and helping others discover that they can do the same.
His journey has taught him that purpose is not something people find once and keep forever.
It is something they choose repeatedly through the way they live, serve, and show up for others.
Becoming the Person the Past Was Preparing
Jake Robbins does not pretend that transformation is easy.
His story acknowledges pain without allowing it to become the final chapter.
The experiences that once threatened to define his life have become the foundation of a different kind of leadership, one built on empathy, resilience, and authenticity.
His work reminds people that healing is rarely about erasing the past.
Instead, it is about allowing every difficult experience to deepen compassion, strengthen character, and create space for a more meaningful future.
Perhaps that is the most powerful lesson his journey offers.
Sometimes the greatest breakthrough is not becoming someone entirely new.
It is finally becoming the person you were always capable of being.
