Iram Ajmal is a Corporate & MICE Manager at Stamp To Travel, based in Helsinki, Finland. With over two decades of experience in travel, tourism, and events beginning in Dubai, she is now bridging that industry knowledge with formal training in Information Technology, while also serving as Chairperson of the Pakistanis in Finland Association.

A Career Built in Motion
Iram’s professional life began in 2002 in Dubai, a city that moves fast and expects excellence as a baseline. The travel and tourism industry suited her temperament. It was dynamic, complex, and deeply human. Over the years, she moved from operational roles into strategic management, learning the intricate choreography behind corporate travel, MICE, and large-scale events.
“I have always been driven by the dynamic nature of the tourism industry, Working in a global hub set a very high benchmark for excellence.”
Those early years shaped her understanding of logistics, people management, and the unseen work that makes large systems function smoothly. They also taught her something quieter: that industries evolve whether we are ready or not.
Realizing Operations Were No Longer Enough
The first shift came not from failure, but from awareness. As the travel and events industry grew more complex, Iram began to see its limitations particularly its dependence on manual processes and traditional structures.
“I realized that to solve modern challenges in travel and events, I needed technical expertise, Operations alone were no longer enough.”
This realization planted a seed. Technology, she saw, was not replacing experience, it was demanding partnership with it. That insight would later become the axis around which her life turned.
When the World Stopped Moving
Then came COVID-19. Like many in her field, Iram watched an entire industry collapse almost overnight. Flights grounded. Events cancelled. Years of momentum brought to a standstill.
“The most significant challenge was the pandemic, Suddenly, the field I had built my career in came to a complete halt.”
For many, this would have been the end of the story. For Iram, it became a beginning—though not an easy one. She made what she describes as the biggest decision of her life: leaving a stable, established career in the UAE and relocating to Finland to start over.
It was not an escape. It was a commitment.
“I didn’t let the industry collapse define me,” she says. “Instead of giving up, I pivoted.”
Starting Again, With Intention
In Finland, Iram returned to being a student, pursuing a degree in Information Technology while continuing to work alongside her studies. The transition was humbling. New systems. New culture. A tougher job market than she had known in the Middle East.
But adaptability had always been her quiet strength.
“I define success as the courage to reinvent yourself, Leaving a stable life in Dubai to start fresh in Finland wasn’t easy but growth rarely is.”
Over time, her worlds began to converge. Her background in travel gave context to her technical learning. Her IT training gave structure to years of practical insight. She moved beyond theory, working in application support and contributing to projects that focused on real-world problem-solving.
Bridging Two Worlds, On Purpose
Today, Iram’s work lives at the intersection of experience and evolution. Professionally, she is focused on building smarter, more efficient solutions for the travel and events industry—using technology not as a buzzword, but as a practical tool.
“My goal is to connect two worlds, Deep industry experience and modern tech create the best results together.”
Beyond her professional life, her sense of responsibility extends into community. As Chairperson of the Pakistanis in Finland Association, she works to create support systems for newcomers—helping people integrate, find opportunities, and feel less alone in unfamiliar terrain.
“For me, making a difference means using my skills to improve lives, Not just through work, but through service.
Looking Ahead, Without Forgetting Where She Started
Iram’s vision for the future is grounded and clear. She hopes to continue growing in roles where her technical skills and industry knowledge are both valued. At the same time, she plans to expand community initiatives that help others navigate transitions—especially those starting over in new countries.
What keeps her motivated is perspective.
“When things get tough, I remind myself why I moved to Finland, To build a future-proof career and to keep learning.”
